Now, this is a story all about how life got flipped-turned upside down and we need to take a minute just sit right there! Maybe more than a minute is needed for this? All minds are cluttered with questions. Who am I? Who are we? Who are you? Who are they? The difficulty of understanding reflections of self is a struggle shared by all. Individuals of all ages, colors, and backgrounds need a helmet and pads to tackle the multitude of issues surrounding identity.
Everyone has a story to tell, but the characters are not always clear. To begin the year, FIND D7 explores the many dimensions of self. From the individual to the global community and everything in-between, everyone sees themselves differently and is seen differently at all levels of the social sphere. Throughout the month, educators will encourage participants to engage in the complexities of defining a person, a group, and a community. The broad nature of identity will also allow participants to learn about the organization they are choosing membership.
To D7 Representatives and SFAS Educators -
You have the liberty of how you want to portray the theme for this month. Share us your thoughts, what you did, any ideas you have, any pictures, etc.
Anyone can comment, but keep it clean! =)

William and Mary opted to do a mini-Tagalog lesson to show that there are certain words that do not exist in the Tagalog language. For example since there is no snow in the Philippines, there is no Tagalog word for snow. It showed that the language was driven by the surroundings of the people.
IDENTITY---
Maybe have each split into groups (depending on how big discussion/organization/activity space/etc) and have member think about..
1.)Their place in the Filipino American community...
- Are you a Filipino-American?
a) 1st generation
b) 2nd generation
- Are you a Filipino-American supporter/friend/etc?
2.) How has Filipino-American culture been identified your life?
After sharing everything ...
come to consensus about
How can everyone IDENTIFY TOGETHER as a whole? What similarities bring us all into one being.. or even as your ORGANIZATION?
yeee.. so yea, just thought of that from my head of how maybe i would do it, but of course, need some incentives and fun jank up in there..
I think one of the lessons plans I had last year was a map that we drew and shared at the meeting with the rest of the general body.
but really, be creative and get people active in it!
